Traffic rules in Belarus

 1. Traffic safety is controlled by police called GAI.

2. Drivers must have a car insurance, license and driving documents.

3. In Belarus traffic drives on the right.

4. Wearing seat belt is mandatory.

5. The speed limit in built-up areas is 60 km/h.

6. The allowed speed in residential areas is 20 km/h.

7. Outside built-up areas the speed limit is 90 km/h.

8. Drivers must give way to pedestrians at pedestrian crossings.
