It was a famous trading post.

Vikings came from Norway and Denmark and settled in Britain in the years after 800 AD.

Viking York has now disappeared.

People can see the ruins of an ancient castle.

When Vikings died, they were buried with the things that were very dear to them.

Archaeologists found a grave with skeleton of a rich woman and her treasures: coins, silver and gold.
