Предлоги места

Чаще других употребляются предлоги места on, in и at. Каждый из этих предлогов является многозначным.

On

1.      на, на поверхности: оn the floor – на полу, on the chair – на стуле, on the beach – на берегу, on board – на борту, on paper – на бумаге.

2.      нахождение на какой-л. Реке: London stands on the Thames. – Лондон расположен на реке Темза.

3.      указывает на сторону: справа / слева: on the right – справа, on the left — слева.

4.      на таком-то этаже: on the sixth floor – на 6-мэтаже.

5.      по радио, по телевизору, в интернете: on the radio, on TV, on the Internet.

6.     в общественном транспорте: on a bus – в автобусе, on a train – в поезде (Но: in a car, in a taxi).

In

1.      в, внутри: in my room – в соей комнате, in the book – в книге, in the box – в коробке, in the car - в автомобиле.

2.      местоположение: in the street-  на улице, in the picture - на картине, in the newspaper – в газете.

3.      в городе / стране / на континенте: in Moscow, in town, in the USA, in Africa.

At

1.      у, около: аt the door – у двери, at the traffic lights – у светофора.

2.      события: at the conference – на конференции, at the lesson – на уроке.

3.      учреждения: at school – в школе, at the library – в библиотеке.

4.      адрес с номером дома: at 105 Baker Street.
