      1.      Let’s talk about international cooperation. Do you know what countries have cross-cultural relationship with Belarus?

Our modern world is quickly turning into big global community. Each country wants to show its own national interests. The Republic of Belarus also tries to take its own place on the international arena. Our country builds up good relations with other countries. Nowadays Belarus represented in 56 countries all over the world. Our country takes an active part in the development of the global community in different spheres of life.

Belarus is a country that attracts tourists from all over the world. Our country actively cooperates with UNESCO and four beautiful places included in the UNESCO heritage list are located in Belarus: Belavezhskaya Pushcha National Park, Nesvizh Castle, Mir Castle and the Struve Geodetic Arc. Belarus also has its own 4 Nobel Prize nominees in the sphere of culture and art and 1 winner, Svetlana Alexievich, for the Nobel Prize in Literature.Belarus also takes an active part in the sphere of foreign policy and global security. It is one of the founders of the United Nations Organization (UNO). Belarus takes an active part in the sphere of international telecommunications, information and banking technologies forum TIBO. Among the most successful bilateral IT achievements are Viber and World of Tanks (WoT).

The republic of Belarus is an active member of the world sports movement. It hosts different international championships. The names of Belarusian Olympic Champions are well-known all over the world. Several Belarusian sportsmen are in the Guinness Book of Records.

So, according to all mentioned above we can say that our country is a good place to live and develop ourselves.

      2.      Is it important for Belarus to organize international events?

Yes, it is. It is very important for Belarus to organize international events. The Republic of Belarus organizes and takes part in different international cultural events. It helps to show our country to the world and it brings a lot of tourists to our country. International Art Festival “Slavyansky Bazar” is annually held in Vitebsk. International Festival of Young Talents “the Earth Under White Wings”, International Children’s Festival “Golden Bee”, International Folk Art Festival “Wreath of Friendship”, International Theatre Festival “White Tower”, Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad”, International Festival of Animated Films “Animaevka” and many, many others. 

     3.      What questions will you ask your American friend who wants to become a diplomat?

1. Why do you want to be a diplomat?

2. Who told you about this profession?

3. What will you do if you become a diplomat?

4. Do you know any Belarusian diplomats?

5. Have you ever met a diplomat?

     4.      Give advice to your friend who is hosting a foreign student.

You should organize a place for a student. You should tell him or her about Belarusian customs and traditions. You should be polite and friendly to a foreign student.

      5.      You would like to take part in a student exchange programme. Find out which options you would be fit for. In your opinion, in which areas could Belarus cooperate with other countries?

Our country exports heavy lorries, tractors, motorcycles, bicycles, TV and radio –sets, data processing equipment and gas stoves, refrigerator and furniture, carpets and knitted goods, chemical fibres and fertilizers, agricultural products, potassium salts.

Belarus has to import oil, gas, coal, metal, chemicals and cotton. Together with grain, sugar, vegetable oil, fish products, citrics, tea, coffee and wine they are the main items of Belarusian imports. Belarus has good trade relations with Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany and Poland. The country is connected with its neighbours by its wide network of rail, -high and waterways, not to mention air routes.
