1.           Let’s talk about the mass media. Which of these do people in your family prefer: TV, newspapers, radio?

Mass media play an important role in our life. Mass media include various types of media such as television, radio, newspapers and magazines. Reading newspapers and magazines, watching TV, listening to the news on the radio are our main means of getting information.

TV is very popular kind of mass media. We have many different channels. We can watch films, sports, plays, educational and cultural programs.

Newspapers report different kinds of news. Some people still buy newspapers for the radio and TV programs which they publish. There are newspapers and magazines for young people.

TV is a favourite mass media in my family. We learn about different countries, people and their customs, traditions and problems. TV helps us to relax after a hard day. We watch different talk-shows, TV games, concerts, feature films and serials.

But I should mention the disadvantages of TV. It takes a lot of time and makes us lazy.

I think TV is the most popular mass media but we should choose only useful programs.

Yes, I do. I think many people are involved in covering the news. Editors, journalists, typists, writers, operators and many others are work to make the news.

5.     What will the mass media look like in thirty years’ time?

Some people think that today newspapers are losing their popularity. Today everything is available on the Internet and new technology is being rapidly developed. I think there will be computers all over and we will use cars without drivers.
